Richard Dreyfuss

My friend, who is not an actor, had an interesting point of view concerning the fuss over the delayed opening of COMPLICIT:

"Surely RD unsteady with his lines is still more enjoyable to watch than a lot of actors who are on top of their lines?"

Certainly a view that could start a debate...!

I was lucky enough to see this before it was delayed. i have to say i wasn't that impressed. Richard Dreyfuss was ok. but really nothing great. david suche was wimply wonderful though.

However i found the plot overly complicated for no reason. it really really is heavy on american leagl jargon. and i came out thinking 'surely the plot can't be that simple i must have been confused'. but talking to the cast i had understood it. i just couldn't understand why a plot that is quite simple is so over done and over complicated in its execution. some moments are drawn out to irritating lengths. and mauch of the audience around me grumbled they were bored or simply didn't understand all the heavy legal jargon.

It had some good moments. but personally i was very disapointed but it. but as i said David Suche was sublime. and i would watch it again and again just for him.

I have to confess, having worked with Mr Dreyfuss in the past probably gave my visit added interest, so I'm not an impartial witness. But I still loved watching his performance!
